Advanced Shelter
Techniques

I’ve read a great deal of reports recently concerning day walkers who have been compelled to spend an evening, or multiple nights, in the shrub. The conditions differed however as day walkers, they were commonly not planned for the overnight keep, in some cases in cool and damp weather condition. I locate it fascinating that a great deal of these write-ups concentrate on just how much food individuals made it through on; ‘Lost skier survived on Mars bar and snow’. ‘Hiker lived off one caterpillar as well as 2 chocolate bars’. ‘Bushwalker consumed muddy water as well as ate plants and blossoms to maintain himself’. Rarely do these short articles concentrate on exactly how they made it through by seeking or building a sanctuary.

When lost in the bush, the majority of people stress with anxiety they will certainly run out of food. Did you understand you can make it through 3 weeks without food given you have water and also sanctuary? Knowing exactly how to build a survival shelter is an essential skill.

Protecting Your Caravan Park with Snake Fencing

Snake Fence

As a caravan park operator, I’ve seen my fair share of unexpected visitors. From wayward kangaroos to sneaky possums, it’s always a challenge to keep the wildlife out and the guests safe. But one particular incident involving a lizard and a fence made me realise that good security fences are essential for any caravan park.

It was a hot summer day, and we were all lounging around the pool when one of the kids noticed a lizard scurrying along the fence. We didn’t think much of it until the lizard suddenly disappeared. It had somehow managed to squeeze through a gap in the fence, which got us all thinking – if a lizard can escape, what else can get in or out?

That’s when we decided to upgrade our fences with snake fencing. Snake fencing is a specially designed fence that’s built to keep snakes out. It’s made of fine mesh that’s too small for snakes to get through, and it’s tall enough to prevent them from climbing over.

Protecting the Lizards (and the Dogs)

At first, we were a little hesitant about installing snake fencing. After all, we didn’t want to harm any of the local wildlife. But then we realised that snake fencing could actually help protect the lizards and other small animals that live in the area. By keeping out snakes, we were creating a safer habitat for the local wildlife.

Of course, protecting the wildlife wasn’t our only concern. Many of our visitors travel with their pets, especially dogs. And as you may know, snakes can be dangerous to dogs. By installing snake fencing, we could provide an extra layer of protection for our furry guests.

Choosing the Right Fencing

When we decided to install snake fencing, we knew we had to find the right supplier. After some research, we decided to use The Fencing Store in Brisbane. They had a wide range of fencing options, including snake fencing.

The team at The Fencing Store was incredibly helpful. They took the time to explain the different types of snake fencing and helped us choose the best option for our caravan park. They also gave us some tips on how to maintain the fencing to ensure it would last for years to come.

Since installing the snake fencing, we’ve noticed a big difference in the number of wildlife sightings in the caravan park. While we still get the occasional kangaroo or possum, we haven’t seen any snakes since the fence was installed.

Tips for Installing Snake Fencing

If you’re thinking about installing snake fencing in your caravan park, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  1. Choose a reputable supplier – Look for a supplier who specialises in snake fencing and has experience working with caravan parks.
  2. Consider the height of the fence – Make sure the fence is tall enough to prevent snakes from climbing over.
  3. Check for gaps – Make sure there are no gaps in the fence where snakes or other wildlife could get through.
  4. Maintain the fence – Regularly inspect and maintain the fence to ensure it stays in good condition.

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, good security fencing is essential for any caravan park. Not only does it help keep visitors and their pets safe, but it also helps protect the local wildlife. If you’re thinking about upgrading your fencing, consider snake fencing as an option. And if you’re in Brisbane, be sure to check out The Fencing Store – they’ll help you find the right fencing for your caravan park.

And remember, if a lizard can escape through a fence, then you never know what else can slip in or out. By investing in snake fencing, you’ll create a safe and secure environment for everyone who visits your caravan park.

Plus, as a bonus, you’ll have some hilarious stories to tell. We still chuckle about the time that lizard managed to get through the fence. He was a particularly plump lizard and imagining him fitting through any gap still makes me laugh as I type this out. There’s never a dull day running a caravan park, I tell you. And it’s a great reminder of just how important it is to have good security measures in place.

So if you’re looking for ways to improve your caravan park’s security, consider installing snake fencing. Not only will it provide a safe and secure environment for your guests and their pets, but it will also help protect the local wildlife.

The Importance of Activewear in Summer

activewear

We all know we need to be more active, and if we’re being honest, it’s something most of us struggle with. We’re set to make our New Year’s goals (again), and while we have the best of intentions, when it comes to choosing between going the gym and slumping on the couch watching Netflix at the end of the day, Netflix always wins.

If you’re bored of sliding off the fitness waggon, consider this: wearing activewear might actually motivate you to exercise more. While it may not have occurred to you previously, activewear is a good tactic to help you become the active person you’ve always wanted to be.

While you may be tempted to work out in your baggy tracksuit and old t-shirt, there are several compelling reasons why investing in some sportswear is a smart choice. There’s a reason why the market for workout gear has risen dramatically in recent years. It’s more than simply a vanity exercise, as polls indicate that wearing appealing and comfortable workout apparel increases motivation to exercise for over 85% of women. Clearly, what you wear and how it makes you feel is a significant motivation for exercise – and anything that encourages you to move is a good thing. To explain the occurrence, experts have developed the phrase “enclothed cognition.”

The concept of enclothed cognition is that the garments we wear may impact our behaviour and emotions. Wearing a lab coat helps you appear more professional, but wearing a leather bomber jacket makes you appear more rebellious. When you wear activewear in this condition, you are more inclined to go to the gym and work out, and therefore you become more active.

Of course, this isn’t to say you can’t be active if you don’t have contemporary sportswear to wear – you really can! However, for the great majority of individuals, wearing sportswear may increase motivation and put you in the correct frame of mind for working out.

Activewear You Can Love

La Sculpte is our top pick. La Sculpte is a shapewear and womens activewear firm based in Australia. They provide a fantastic selection of track pants for women, yoga clothing and more in a number of designs. Furthermore, because of their experience in sportswear, their product fits comfortably while still giving the required support to allow you to exercise with ease. Check out their plus-size activewear collection here.

How Activewear Makes You More Active

Making You More Conscious Of Your Choices

Because you identify wearing activewear with being active, you are more likely to make good choices and exercise.

Using science to its full potential

‘Enclothed cognition’ reflects the notion that when you wear certain garments, you experience a mental shift that is tied to the symbolic significance of the clothing. As a result, what you dress unconsciously influences how you act. Wearing a lively, colourful design, for example, is more likely to make you feel “fun” and “happy” than wearing all-black. Wearing activewear increases your likelihood of becoming active.

Reducing your reasons for not exercising

Because you’re already dressed and ready to go, wearing activewear makes it easier to go to the gym/park/sporting field.

Providing a mental boost

When you wear activewear to a workout, you become more motivated, confident, and energetic. And when you expect to do better, you typically do.

Enhancing your physical performance

Running shoes that are correctly fitted and supportive can increase your performance and reduce your risk of injury. When hiking, wearing good hiking boots rather than running shoes provides you with increased grip, stability, and shock absorption capabilities, allowing you to climb longer and more difficult terrain and make the most of your time. Choosing appropriate bike shorts for riding a bike can undoubtedly increase your performance by decreasing friction and chafing from the bike. You get the point – excellent activewear is constructed with qualities that will improve your performance. As a result, you are more likely to enjoy being active and to maintain an active lifestyle.

Keeping you safe from severe weather

You’re also more likely to enjoy going active if you know you’ll be able to do it comfortably. Wearing warm, insulated textiles that keep the cold at bay may make winter exercise much more bearable. Similarly, if your gear is breathable and sweat-wicking, you’ll be more inclined to exercise even on hot days in the summer.

Increasing your self-assurance

When you wear sportswear, you look at the part and, more importantly, you feel the part. Wearing the correct clothing, especially if you haven’t been active in a long time, can make you feel more confident and fit in, which can raise motivation levels. And the more self-assured you are, the more likely you are to go to the gym – and stay there.

While wearing activewear offers a number of advantages, no one is required to do so. If you’re happy working out in whatever you have lying around, that’s fantastic! Wearing sportswear and feeling like we ‘fit in’ may make us feel good about ourselves and be a significant incentive for a lot of people, so it’s definitely worth considering.

Also, while high-quality, long-lasting activewear might be costly, there are low-cost versions of every style of sportswear available that will still help to boost your confidence and motivation. What matters is that you feel good about yourself. When it comes to being active and sustaining an active lifestyle, it is up to each individual to find inspiration, choose an activity they love, and stick with it. And if you wear athletic gear that makes you feel inspired, enthusiastic, and confident, the entire process becomes much simpler.

While putting on your sportswear may not turn you into a star athlete, it is likely that it will make you more eager to exercise rather than couch-sitting – and that has to be a positive thing.

The 2nd Year Working Visa and Guidelines

Where, when, what: area, time period and task requirements

Making an application for your very first working holiday visa through the Australian government website is quite straightforward, and you’ll quickly find yourself living and working in Australia. Excellent news, mate!

The second year visa application process is a tad more complicated as your work needs to cover:

a) particular areas

b) specific job types

c) a certain amount of time

To earn the right to a second year visa you should work in among Australia’s more remote areas– the sort of places where taking a trip to the closest town takes about as long as travelling to a whole other country in Europe. To ensure that your work counts as ‘local work’, check that the postal code of the place you’re looking to work at is on the list of authorized locations on the Australian federal government site. The job should be paid (in the past voluntary work was eligible) and the work hours must constitute a full-time task.

Possible jobs include most farm work, so generally whatever from harvesting veggies to planting trees and working with animals. More generic tasks on farms, work on fishing boats or mines, or craftmanship in local locations may likewise be accepted. There’s a broad option! I make sure you’ll find something that works for you; whether you’re a knowledgeable handy-person or an absolute farm work beginner like me.

The general rule is that you have to do 88 days of farm work to be able to use for a 2nd working vacation visa. This implies that you only have to work 3 months, during which time you can experience the Australian Outback and continue saving for your travels where there are less temptations to spend your hard-earned money.

In case you take a break for a while or do your farm work in numerous locations, just the days you really work count, implying that building up 88 might take a while. If you understand early on that you ‘d like to remain in Australia for 2 years, you need to begin collecting days as soon as possible, or try to discover a task for three constant months in an area you desire to call your short-term home (which truthfully isn’t tough to discover in gorgeous Australia).

Tips, tricks and other important info relating to the application

Managed to discover your dream farm task? Now you can more or less relax and relax … but do not forget the following points:

Whenever you’re paid you’ll get a ‘payment slip’ which you should not lose. You might be needed to show all your payslips from your first year of work as evidence to support the application for a second year working holiday visa. I understand, documents sucks. But trust me, no paperwork draws much more in this case.

Need to you be using from within Australia, it’s important to remain there up until the visa is approved. Don’t fret if your very first visa expires while you’re waiting– you will be given a temporary ‘bridging visa’ so that you can keep living and working in Australia until your application is processed.
